To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, a collaboration with the Historical Archive & Digitisation team at Transport for NSW illuminated the colourful stories of shared connection.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened to the public in 1932 and was designed not only to connect both sides of the city, but also unite communities, boost the economy and future-proof the city. The famous “coat hanger” is one of Australia’s most loved and photographed landmarks – an enduring icon and symbol of modernity, connectivity and of Sydney itself.
Images carefully selected from the photographic archive spanning 100 years were digitised, stylised and animated to to tell the tale of one of the world’s most famous man-made structures through the people and places it connects.
